Non-lactating or non-gestating brood mares, and brood mares in the first 8 months of gestation have the same requirements as adult horses :
4 EFU and 390 g of EDNM.
During the last 3 months of gestation (9th to 11th month), nutritional requirements increase, reaching :
5.5 EFU and 470 g EDNM. Protein and energy requirements are very high during this period.
A- Feed ration for brood mares at the end of gestation
Forage supplement option :
hay or fresh grass 5.0/20 kg =>
DP EVOLUTION 3.5 to 4.5 kg or
DP FLOC EVOLUTION 3.4 to 4.4 kg
Cereal supplement option :
hay or fresh grass 5.0/20 kg =>
DP PROTEINE 2.0 kg and cereals 3.4 kg
During the first 3 months after foaling, the mare’s food intake and nutritional requirements practically double :
9 EFU and 800 g EDNM
B- Feed ration for lactating brood mares
